City2Surf fun run

On August 11, 2002, 65,000 runners, joggers, powerwalkers, and walkers invaded the CBD for this year's City2Surf race. The course of 14 km heads to the east and south and finishes at famous Bondi Beach. Claudia had trained for the race, Peter went photo shooting. Under a magnificient sun, the race was transformed into an unparalleled city party: the runners were watered by private people with their garden water hoses, many Jazz bands played along the course – and the runners applauded cheerfully while running – and at the end of this sweat-tour, a refreshing swim in the sea was awaiting.
