Sand sculpting Australia

January 2003: Sand Sculpting in Cronulla. The sand sculptures, which are only finished after week-long hard work, are sprayed with furniture polish to keep the wind from drying them out. This helps the sculptures to last for weeks or even months, depending on the weather. Nevertheless, it is a transitory art that fascinates us. Apart from the fact that many details might vanish fast, we are enthusiastic about the ideas, the skills, and the irony of the artists: A "Bug Wall" shows insects at a cricket match, an Indian Holy Elephant holds a mobile phone in one hand and shows the "V" symbol with another.
